Sydney - The Artist

I saw a fun art project in my Family Fun magazine, cut out a picture from a magazine or take a photo and put it on a piece of paper and draw the rest of the scene. I'm not even going to show Ryan's picture, lets just say he has other skills.:)

School Obsessions

My mom has always been know to get a "project" and then becomes obsessed with it, and I admit I have a little of that too.

I like to think that I am just passionate.

My latest obsession is trying to find things to keep Ava busy while the older kids are doing schoolwork, but I wanted her to be learning also.

This is where Internet shopping is both so helpful and addictive!

So, for a few days this past week it was Christmas in February, almost every day there would be a new package in the mail, I admit I was as excited as the kids!

The F Word

A few days ago, me and the kids were watching some home videos, and the kids were laughing about something. I wasn't paying attention to what was going on, but all of the sudden I heard Ryan say, "oh, that sounded like the f-word!"

Now, I have to explain that my kids are pretty sheltered, not that most kids his age would know "bad" words , but some do.

Anyway, I paused the video, and looked over at him and said, "what did you say??!" I admit I was a little upset, but more shocked. Poor kid, I could see him squirming, so he repeated, "it sounded like the f-word." I was pretty confused, "where did you hear that from?" He was now squirming even more, but was probably very confused too, " well, you know, um, fart."

I just laughed out loud, but it did make me kind of proud that that was the kind of "bad" word that my 8 year old knows.
