Story Time

We went to the local library a few weeks ago, (these pictures were taken with Sydney's disposable camera, so I had to wait for the film to be developed). The story was Alex and the Amazing Lemonaid Stand, a story about a little girl with cancer who started a lemonaid stand to raise money for cancer research. We checked this book out from the library and Sydney read it right away, so I thought it would be neat for her to meet the author and hear her read and talk about the book.

There was a craft after, to make get well cards for people in the hospital, here are Ryan and Sydney with their cards...

I actually made Sydney make a new one because her first attempt was a little scary!

I explained that a sick person might think about blood and the upset look on this persons face and they might not feel very good. Sydney meant well; the card was of a kitty and a bowl of raspberries and the person was surprised that the kitty had made a big mess with the berries! An obvious choice for someone in the hospital, right?!

"I love you, Uncle Steve!"

Ava has a real soft spot for her Uncle Steve. She has told me many times, "I love Uncle Steve"(she loves you too, Aunt Worm, she just doesn't feel the need to say it!)

Got Teeth?

Notice the red cheeks and tongue hanging out, I'm afraid I may have an early teether on my hands.(She is usually drooling like crazy too, just not in these pictures)

Typical Home School stuff

I took the kids to the Mount Vernon Children's Museum on Monday.

We met my sister and her new baby there, here are some pictures of Ava and Piper.

The Mount Vernon Library had a book mark contest, the theme was "be creative at the library". Ryan's entry was very literal, he was being "creative".
Sydney, on the other hand, was typical Sydney.

We are awaiting the results.

First Day of Spring

We had a special day to celebrate the first day of spring. The kids all got Cadbury Creme Eggs, which they had never had before, and loved them.

Then we did a flower craft,

and had a picnic in the living room,

and with their yogurt cups they each planted some seeds.

Gretchen- 4 months

Gretchen turned 4 months on Monday. I'd love to tell all the great things that she can do, but she is pretty much just a lump, a very, very, chubby lump.

I can tell you that she is around 17lb , she smiles a lot, and doesn't like it when her mom leaves, just ask Travis.

Church notes

I stayed home Sunday night with Ava and Gretchen , so I told Ryan and Sydney to take notes for me .

this is what Ryan came home with ...

"Mom church is going very well so far. Mom we are douing Mark 5:21 . Is a story about beleving."

Sydney brought me some pictures that she drew of the sermon...

This is Jesus and a crowd of people and a little girl who was sick and blood kept coming out of her body, she kept going to doctors , but she just got worse.
Here is where Jesus healed her...
Here is a girl who was dead, but she was just sleeping...
Jesus came and healed her (apparently she was a very tall girl)(that is Jesus in the middle)

They were so happy they were crying. The End

POTTY PARTY!!!

When Sydney , our now 6 year old, was done potty training we went to Chuck E Cheese for a "Potty Party" to celebrate her accomplishment. When Ava was in the middle of potty training we started talking to her about the potty party, she was very excited but also frustrated because when she would try to say it she would say "pauty pauty" .
Well, Saturday was the day!!
Ava has been dry at night for weeks and she has only had a handful of "accidents" , so we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. I was glad to have Travis there because I have taken the kids there on my own, (not since Gretchen has been born) but Travis usually doesn't get to go .

Field Trip

We went to the Everett Children's Museum on Thursday with some people from church. If you have never been there you should go, it is 3 stories tall and the kids all love it!

I just got some school books for Ava from Costco, I love walking through Costco's book section! These are from KUMON , I've seen their commercials on tv, Ava loves doing schoolwork! The older kids had to stop what they were doing and encourage her, they were so proud!
